Abstract

AbstractThe Annual excursion of the Bronte Society on Wednesday, July 4th, 1956, was to Gawthorpe Hall, near Burnley, by kind permission of Miss Rachel Kay-Shuttleworth. Mr. Donald Hopewell, the President, led the party, and some 70 members attended. The weather was fine, and we enjoyed a delightful drive through Keighley, Calne and Burnley to Gawthorpe Hall, where Miss Kay-Shuttleworth welcomed us and showed us round.
