Abstract

In order to estimate the influence of the diurnal variation of the atmospheric temperature on that of cosmic ray intensity, we investigated the bihourly data of cosmic ray intensity at Huancayo and aerological data at San Juan. As the mean atmospheric temperature, the altitude differences between 100mb. and 1000mb. levels were used. We ascertained that the amplitude of the diurnal change of cosmic-ray intensity at Huancayo exceeded 0.5% at least (i. e. twice that of the observed value), if the temperature effect was taken into accounts.
