Abstract

To better understand the mechanisms of such antibody-mediated rejection and explore novel strategies for clinical application, it is important to establish an animal research model of humoral rejection in ABO-incompatible organ transplantation. In this chapter, we will discuss the following issues: the ABO tissue groups and blood groups in nonhuman primates, natural anti-blood group antibody levels in sera of nonhuman primates, outcomes of ABO-incompatible organ transplantation in nonhuman primates, and establishment of humoral rejection models in ABO-incompatible organ transplantation in nonhuman primates.
