Abstract

A method is suggested for complete vaporization of a substance in a graphite crucible. The use of this method for quantitative analysis, using atomic absorption spectra, eliminates the effect of the composition of the sample on the analytical results. A high absolute sensitivity is reached for the determination of the majority of the elements. The apparatus and experimental procedure are described, and the dependence of the degree of absorption on experimental conditions is discussed.
