Abstract

Objective To study the feasibility and safety of soft ureteroscope lithotripsy combined with double-J tube for prevention of upper urinary calculi complicated with acute pyelonephritis. Methods From May 2017 to October 2018, 86 cases of upper urinary stone patients treated in our hospital were randomly divided into indwelling group(n=43) and non-indwelling group (n=43). All patients were treated with soft ureteroscope lithotripsy, with double-J tubes preoperatively in the indwelling group, and without double-J tubes preoperatively in the non-indwelling group. The success rate of one-time soft lens channel sheath implantation, the stone clearance rate 1 month after surgery, the incidence of postoperative acute pyelonephritis and the satisfaction of treatment were compared between the two groups. Results The success rate of one-time soft lens channel sheath implantation in the indwelling group was higher than the non-indwelling group(P<0.05). The incidence of postoperative acute pyelonephritis and other complications in the indwelling group was lower than the non-indwelling group(P<0.05). The treatment satisfaction of patients in the indwelling group was higher than the non-indwelling group(P<0.05). Conclusions Soft ureteroscope lithotripsy combined with indwelling double-J tube for the treatment of upper urinary calculi has good efficacy, high stone clearance rate, low incidence of postoperative acute pyelonephritis, and good feasibility and safety. Key words: Urinary Calculi; Pyelonephritis; Ureteroscopy; Cannula
