Abstract

AbstractObjective. To investigate the factors influencing readmission of 4778 patients who were readmitted within 31 days, in 2012, of an A-level tertiary general hospital in Beijing. Methods. Indices, including the patient's basic condition distribution, payment mode and disease constitution, etc. were analyzed with SPSS statistical software. Results. The rate of readmission of females was obviously higher than that of males; the readmission rates of patients covered by medical insurance (18.6%) and the free medical service (14.5%) were significantly higher than those of other types of patients; and the readmission rate of 60 to 69-year-old patients was 20.6%, being the highest. The departments with the top three readmission rates were respectively the oncology department (63.1%), the rehabilitation department (59.4%) and the hematology department (54.9%), and the top three diseases were respectively tumor (58.5%), circulatory system disease (10.1%) and respiratory disease (9.9%).
