Abstract

Dry-type transformers are often with cases when they are in operation. How to dissipate the heat inside the case and ensure the normal operation of the transformer is an important indicator to distinguish the design of indoor transformer is good or not. The first step is to obtain the density of heat source inside the case when do the magnetic-thermo coupling analysis using the electromagnetic analysis software, and then do the analysis. According to the symmetry of product structure, we make a two dimension simulation model to do the magnetic field and temperature field coupling analysis of the loss and temperature rise. The writer conducts the simulation analysis of a dry-type cast-epoxy resin transformer and compares analytical data with test data. The result of test and simulation analysis shows that to design a transformer needs to research the effect of the case on the temperature rise of the transformer and adopt synchronous improving measures.
