Abstract

Objective To evaluate prophylactic central lymph node(CLN)dissection for patient with cN0 papillary thyroid microcarcinoma(PTMC).Methods 54 patients of cN0 PTMC were retrospective reviewed.Results of the 54 patients,48 patients underwent lobectomy with isthmectomy and ipsilateral CLN dissection.while 6 patients received total thyroidectomy with bilateral CLN excision.The total rates of CLN metastasis was 24.1%(13/54).The occurrence rates of complication was 9.3%(5/54).Included 3 cases of temporary recurrent laryngeal nerve paralysis and 2 cases of temporary hypoparathyroidism.Conclusions Metastasis in CLN of cN0 PTMC are relatively common,it's necessary to perform prophylactic CLN dissection.
