Abstract

This research aimed at analyzing the implementation of project based learning to improve students’ creative thinking skill in solving the problem of tiles coloring combination pattern. The methods used in this research were in the form of combined methods that were qualitative and quantitative. The subject of this research consisted of 42 students in the control group and 44 students in the experimental group. The pre-test data of the control and experimental classes were tested by using independent sample t-test which showed sig (2-tailed) 0.726 (p > 0.05), therefore there was no significant different between the result of students’ achievement of the control and experimental classes. This stated that the result of the second class pre-test was homogenous. In the other hand, the post-test data of the control and experimental classes were analyzed by using independent sample t-test and the result of Sig. (2-tailed) 0.00 (p < 0.05), it could be concluded that there was a significant different after the implementation of project based learning.
