Abstract

In many experimental situations the information has the form of a noisy decay superimposed upon an unknown baseline. Procedures to cope with exponentially declining signals have already been reported. The special analytic method of Smith and Buckmaster is extended to linear and quadratic hyperbolic decays. Suggestions for data gathering and handling are given along with the necessary formula.
