Abstract
The graphic method recommended for the analysis of simple sentences is not suited to the analysis of complex, double and multiple sentences. Its basic diagram (see Section 8.3 (g)) provides an instructive visual display of simple sentence structure, but it cannot be stretched to display the structure of a sentence that contains more than one subject and predicate.
