Abstract

Two-nucleon phase-shift ambiguities in the 3P states are illustrated. We take advantage of that fact and introduce new charge-indepdenence and charge-symmetry breaking 3P phases. They are generated by slight modifications of the Bonn B potential which, used in the three-nucleon system, remove persistent discrepancies in the low-energy pd and nd analysing powers. Three-nucleon observables are proposed to test experimentally these modifications of the 3P two-nucleon forces.
