Abstract

ABSTRACT This paper will provide a case study to show how the psychoanalyst can use the intuitive archetypal image from a client in the analytic process. The animal image occurred in the analysis has been amplified beyond personal, cultural, historical associations as a ¨fox¨ in modern China. The fox image represents an archetype of masculine energy emerged from female agency as the animal instinct to break through tradition and the limitations of culture and gender.
