Abstract

In this issue of Cell Stem Cell, a new study by Rostovskaya etal. (2022) uses human stem cells to understand the formation of the amnion, a vital extraembryonic tissue that encircles the fetus during gestation. They provide insight into human amnion formation and reveal differences in developmental competency of naive and primed human pluripotent stem cells.
