Abstract

The American College of Radiology was conceived by Dr. Albert Soiland of Los Angeles and founded by him and 20 other radiologists in San Francisco in 1923. Originally an exclusive formal organization, it expanded its membership and activities in the mid 1930s. At present, the College operates a main office in Chicago and another in Washington. It has a membership of 8,500 and innumerable educational and socio-economic activities.
