Abstract

Background: The Amblyopia Treatment Studies (ATS) are randomized, multicenter clinical trials. ATS 1 compared patching to atropine for moderate amblyopia. Two-year follow-up is now complete, and we will follow these children to 15 years of age. ATS 2 compared patching regimens for moderate and severe amblyopia. In addition, ATS 2 monitored patients for evidence of recurrence after cessation of therapy. ATS 3 evaluated treatment of older children 7 to 17 years of age. ATS4 compared weekend to daily atropine.
