Abstract

The RF system is a key part of the 100MeV cyclotron in the project of Beijing radioactive ion-beam facility (BRIF), which includes RF generators, resonant cavities, transmission components, power supply and water cooling devices, computer control and so on. Two schemes are taken into account for the RF system design. One is to use a RF generator of 150kW to drive two 1/2 wavelength resonant cavities. The other is to use two RF generators of 100kW to drive two 1/2 wavelength resonant cavities, respectively. For the second scheme two Dee accelerating electrodes are disconnected in the central region, but their accelerating voltages are kept in phase with the help of phase shifters and phase lock loops.In this paper, the design strategy for the RF system, which is very important for high current machine, will be given firstly. And some design details, including the cavity simulation and test, amplifiers, the digital RF control, etc. will be described too.
