Abstract

The measured angular distributions of 24.7 MeV alpha-particles elastically scattered from the nuclei Ag, In, Sn, Hf, W, Au, Bi and U have been analysed in terms of the improved Akhieser-Pomeranchuk-Blair model. In these analyses, the parameterslA and ΔlA, respectively the cut-off angular momentum and the range of partial waves over which the transition from complete absorption to no absorption takes place, were found to be adequate and good agreement with experimental results could be obtained.
