Abstract

The airborne sensor system with system-level redundancy architecture is a convenient and effective method to ensure mission reliability and safety. In practice, the management strategy of the redundant system mainly relies on the engineer’s experience rather than systematic analysis in theory. The Markov set-value decision strategy was proposed to provide an analyzable and systematic strategy for managing the redundant sensor system, such as the redundant inertial reference system. In this strategy, the set-value system is the framework. The Dempster-Shafer (D-S) theory and the Markov decision process are used to improve the accuracy and the stability of the decision results. The results of the simulation experiments certify the advantage of the new strategy over the traditional one with less miss alarm rate and similar false alarm rate.
