Abstract

The aim of this work was to establish the press framing networks surrounding water problems in Mexico City. A documentary study was carried out with press releases related to scarcity, shortages, unsanitary conditions and famine during the period from 2012 to 2022. The results show a discreet framing of the press, although the structure of such framing suggests the representation of the problem as one of shortage and its solution as the increase in tariffs, suggesting the need to extend our research to other scenarios and samples of coverage by the printed media.
