Abstract
The age of a relational structure is the class of its finite substructures. This paper surveys aspects of the relationship between structures and their ages, concentrating on three areas: universality, ℵ0-categoricity and homogeneity; measure and Baire category applied to the class of countable structures with given age; and enumerative aspects (the profile of an age).
