Abstract

Some aspects of the adult behavior of Cerambyx dux Faldermann (Coleoptera: Cerambycidae) are studied. The general pattern of aggressive activity in males is described. Feeding behavior is discussed in relation to survival and the attainment of sexual maturity. The act of copulation, and the procedures ancillary to it, are briefly outlined. Oviposition and host selection are described, particularly with regard to host identity and condition preferences.
