Abstract

In the adsorption of potassium ethyl xanthate on pyrite at pH 3, it was observed that approximately half of the commercial potassium ethyl xanthate remains in the solution and the remaining xanthate is not as xanthate ion; it is in the form of decomposition products of xanthate ion. Addition of Na 2S increases the xanthate ion concentration in the commercial ethyl xanthate solution.
