Abstract

Formulae for the admittance of a thin dipole immersed in an ionized medium which has imposed a steady magnetic field are derived as a function of the following parameters: electron density and collision frequency, magnetic field, dipole orientation relative to the field. It is assumed that the dipole is sufficiently short for radiation terms to be neglected and that the medium may be regarded as homogeneous. The limitations set by these assumptions are discussed.
