Abstract

This paper gives an account of the administration of physical planning in Nigeria, with a focus on Ondo State. It discusses the evolution of physical planning in the then Ondo Province, and points out the lack of co-ordination of physical planning activities between the physical planning division of the state Ministry of Land and Housing and other physical planning agencies in the state, a factor which often results in poor planning. Finally, the paper gives suggestions to improve the administration of physical planning in Ondo State which may have relevance for other states in Nigeria and for developing countries generally.
