Abstract
Purpose/Objective: Preoperative radiation is being utilized extensively in the treatment of rectal cancer. However, the adequacy of distal surgical margin following High Dose preoperative radiation and sphincter preservation surgery for rectal cancer remains to be established. This study was undertaken to examine the impact of the length of distal surgical margins on local recurrence following sphincter preservation surgery for rectal cancer.
