Abstract

AbstractA thermal stability test can determine the amount of residual stability remaining in a polyvinyl chloride compound after processing. Once the percentage of a compound's stability consumed in a given process is known, any regrind material can be tested to determine if it has sufficient residual stability to be reprocessed. Thermal processing also affects weathering, so the test can predict safe weathering limits.
