Abstract

Gas turbines with fast response characteristics make it possible to improve the flexibility of grid regulation. However, there are still some challenges in the connection of gas turbines. On the one hand, the difference of regulation rate between gas turbines and steam turbines causes the system to oscillate strongly. On the other hand, the connection of the gas turbine reduces the inertia of the system, thereby increasing the frequency deviation of the primary frequency response. Based on the above two problems, the additional control strategies are proposed in this paper. The strategies modify the voltage control and power control respectively, thereby improving the primary frequency response of the system. Moreover, a power plant and surrounding power grid in Taicang is chosen as the research object to validate the correctness of the additional control strategies proposed in this paper. The experimental results show that the proposed control strategy can well suppress the frequency oscillation and reduce the frequency deviation.
