Abstract

Alan Pollack and colleagues1 show that extending salvage prostate bed radiotherapy (PBRT) by including pelvic lymph node radiotherapy (PLNRT) combined with short-term androgen deprivation therapy (ADT) results in a meaningful increase in freedom from progression in patients with prostate cancer who have biochemical recurrence after prostatectomy, compared with patients who were treated with PBRT alone or PBRT plus short-term ADT. The combination of PLNRT plus PBRT plus ADT led to a higher number of acute adverse events compared with PBRT plus ADT, although higher rates of late toxicity were not observed.
