Abstract
In this work, we consider the normal large scale environment condition and the undulatory surface that support from solar power charging is limited. In this paper, we propose an adaptive path selection mechanism. The mechanism avoids sensor node having less lifetime issue when energy is insufficient by using neural network model to choose sensor, which has more remaining power and have stronger sunshine conditions (i.e., sunshine angle and time). The current study evaluates this approach's performance by conducting computer simulations. Simulation results reveal the strengths of the proposed adaptive path selection mechanism in terms of increased lifetime and reduced sensors average battery charging time for solar-powered wireless sensor networks.
