Abstract

Abstract : Recently modifications were described to the probe of a Varian HA-100 spectrometer for heteronuclear double resonance experiments using a double tuned transmitter coil. While this arrangement is to be preferred for spin-tickling and other types of double resonance experiments in which the homogeneity of the irradiating field is important, it has been found using a Varian HA-60-IL spectrometer that separately tuned and impedance matched coils provide several advantages for heteronuclear spin-decoupling experiments. This modification is specially useful for spin-decoupling hetero-nuclei possessing a quadrupole moment and therefore requiring very large irradiating amplitudes. (Author)
