Abstract

A theoretical equation is derived for the activity coefficient of oxygen in ternary liquid solutions A-B-C. For this solution, the oxygen behavior in binary B-C may be described by the Wagner one- parameter equation, while those in binaries C-A and A-B by the two-parameter equation. The calculated values of the activity coefficient of oxygen in ternary Sn-Cu-Ag using this equation agree well with the experimental data reported in the literature.
