Abstract

AbstractThe following is a discussion of the oxidation of α‐ and β‐glycerophosphoric acids by hydrogen peroxide under various conditions. The above mentioned esters of phosphoric acid appear to be unsuitable as a substrate in phosphatase determinations, when the action of the peroxide on the phosphatase reaction is being examined; phosphoric acid is split off from these esters by hydrogen peroxide.
