Abstract

This paper discusses the acoustic-structural coupling analysis of muffler in which the method of the finite element is used to solve the differential equations. Firstly, according to the symmetry of muffler, by using coordinate transformation the sound field problem is converted from three-dimensional to two-dimensional problem. Secondly, by using Galerkin method derives finite element equations of discrete plane sound field unit. Then the cell boundary conditions and residuals are analyzed which included acoustic-structural coupling border. The unit matrix equations are set to plane acoustic finite element matrix equation. Finally, the design of the finite element method coupled equations of solid sound is designed. A theoretical foundation is established for muffler acoustic-structural coupling characteristic analysis.
