Abstract

Non-neuronal cells, including airway epithelial cells and immune cells, are capable of producing acetylcholine (ACh), and they express muscarinic ACh receptors. M3 muscarinic receptor antagonists have been used clinically to treat asthma. However, our knowledge is limited regarding the roles of ACh and its receptors in immune responses.
