Abstract
The Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) released the 2023 Standards and Criteria in July 2022 after obtaining the Board of Commissioner's approval (ACEN, 2023). Beginning January 2024, all programs seeking initial or continuing accreditation with the ACEN will be required to use this set of Standards. Further, peer evaluators will use these new Standards during the review of nursing programs. This article describes the benefits of ACEN accreditation and how the new 2023 ACEN Standards and its accreditation process impact the quality of nursing education programs.
