Abstract

AbstractThis article derives a Lindell formulation based on a generalized variational principle. A complex dielectric constant measurement of a small‐loss dielectric rod using the Rayleigh—Ritz method gives accurate variational analysis. The concept of complex frequency ω is introduced in general, and the stability of the solution is discussed. When compared with the results of perturbation, it is concluded that the deviation of the algorithm is worthy of more attention.
