Abstract

Background Blood pressure monitoring is a part of the standard of care for anesthesia induction,which is also very important for the guidance of clinical medication and the safety of patients.Objective This review summarizes the difference between non-invasive blood pressure (NIBP) and invasive blood pressure (IBP) of different patients and its influence on clinical application.Content Compared with IBP,NIBP is likely to be higher than IBP at lower pressure,and lower than IBP at higher pressures.Concomitant use of NIBP with IBP is associated with decreased use of transfusion,vasopressors,and antihypertensives compared with the use of IBP alone.Trend Compared with the use of IBP measurement alone,the use of NIBP monitoring to supplement IBP measurement is usually associated with getting more reliable hemodynamic information and dealing with relevant problem in a more timely manner.
