Abstract

Abstract A mathematical model describing the contamination of nuclear boiler tubes by radioactive corrosion products is developed. It is based on corrosion and diffusion mechanisms occurring at the tube surface, coupled with precipitation due to cooling. The model agrees well with the results of kinetic experiments in a pressurized water loop.
