Abstract

Chemically purified tobacco mosaic virus preparations were separated into several components by stepwise elution of a cation-exchange resin (Amberlite IR-120) and ECTEOLA cellulose columns. The amounts of the components in preparations from source plants infected for different periods was determined. Two of the components separated by ECTEOLA cellulose chromatography started to accumulate a day later than the others.
