Abstract

This study introduces a technological strategy to help Chinese as Foreign Language learner (CFL) to memorise the Chinese Characters. The Ideogrammic Compounds Chinese Characters (ICCC) is being focused in this study because this category of Chinese Characters is the most vital to master. This technological strategy adopts the idea of 1+1>2 to help the CFL to memorise the ICCC by association visually rather than rote-learning. This 1+1>2 technological strategy formation is similar with the arithmetic summation, which combined each independent Chinese Character’s component together to form a morphological representation. The acceptance study, in term of user and system perspective, is carried on with this technological strategy as this acceptance study provided the reason why the learner accepts with the use of this technological strategy. Some statistical measurement of the acceptance with this technological strategy is conducted and the CFL is accepted positively. This study ends by addressing some implications and contribution with the use of 1+1>2 technological strategy in the teaching and learning of Chinese for CFL.
