Abstract

The APS College of Clinical Neuropsychologists (CCN) is pleased to announce the 7th CCN Conference to be held at the Sheraton Towers Southgate, Thursday 4th to Saturday 6th of October 2001. At this year's conference we are planning a varied program to showcase the diverse range of professional and research activities conducted by members of the CCN. In addition, we have made a variety of program innovations. As a result, this year's conference should have a slightly different feel to previous years. In response to feedback from participants at past conferences, we aim to present a broad range of integrated symposia covering many aspects of research and practice in Clinical Neuropsychology. These symposia are designed to encourage the discussion of a focused theme from several different perspectives, together with the opportunity for more interaction between presenters and the audience. Another innovation is a stronger emphasis on scholarly interaction through poster presentations. In line with the success of this type of forum at many international conferences, the dedicated time set aside for the poster forum will provide the primary vehicle for presentation of free-papers in a more intimate atmosphere. Also included in the workshop, symposium and poster program will be a strong emphasis on the psychological methods, which underpin the practice of Clinical Neuropsychology. We are delighted to be able to announce our keynote speakers Howard Garb, Ph.D. and Andrew MacKinnon, Ph.D. Howard Garb is staff clinical psychologist at the Veterans Administration Medical Centre in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA. Andrew MacKinnon is Deputy Director, and Head of Biostatistics and Psychometrics, Mental Health Research Institute of Victoria.
