Abstract
The associated activity technique has been applied to the calibration of the NPL standard long counter and a DePangher precision long counter in the neutron energy range 550 keV to 1 MeV. The neutron fluence produced by the 57Fe(p, n)57Co reaction was calculated from the activity of the 57Co produced. The resulting long counter efficiencies are compared with those previously obtained using relative methods normalized by the use of absolutely calibrated radioactive neutron sources.
