Abstract
In this paper we use a technique introduced by P.M. Cohn in order to prove the so-called AbhyankarâJung theorem, i.e. the existence of parametric equations for a quasiordinary hypersurface. The basic tool of the proof is the equivalence between the existence of solutions for a polynomial equation and the existence of an eigenvalue of its companion matrix.
