Abstract

The Michigan 4-H dairy program involves over 2600 4-H members in various dairy projects. The program is coordinated by the dairy 4-H youth specialist, who is employed fulltime in the Dairy Science Department and works closely with the state 4-H office. Recently the dairy youth specialist has begun to work in a joint effort with the poultry and livestock 4-H youth specialists. In this way a total animal science 4-H program will be developed. The specialists are responsible for particular species but also may pool their talents in wider-ranging activities.
