Abstract

The spectrum of zinc was photographed in the region 2000 Å-820 Å on a 6.65 m and a 10.7 m normal incidence spectrograph using a sliding spark and a triggered spark source. The new measurements have helped us to confirm the earlier analysis of the 3d84s-3d84p transitions and locate the missing level 3d84s 2S1/2, and study the 3d84p-3d84d transitions. 59 out of 67 levels of the 3d84d configuration have been established. Parametric least-squares-fitted calculations support the analysis. Two hundred and eight (208) additional lines have been classified in the Zn IV analysis.
