Abstract

Eighteen resonances have been observed in the 30Si(þ, γ) 31P reaction with protons in the energy region E p = 1.53–2.00 MeV. The resonance energies, the resonance strengths, the excitation energies and the decay modes of the corresponding levels in 31P are reported. The total widths of a few resonance levels as obtained from yield measurement with a very thin target are compared with the results of elastic proton scattering. The spin of all resonance levels has uniquely been determined from gammaray angular distribution and/or gamma-gamma angular correlation measurements. In some cases, a parity assignment has been obtained from 1) the evaluation of the M2 strength of the de-excitation radiation, 2) the calculation of the reduced proton width, and/or 3) the interpretation of recent 30Si(þ, þ) 30Si work.
