Abstract 2,4-Dichloro-5-methoxytropone afforded 3,5,6-trisubstituted 2H-cyclohepta[b]furan-2-one derivatives by condensation with dimethyl malonate and methyl acetoacetate in an exclusive ciné-condensation mode in various solvents.
