Abstract

In this paper, the nonlocal symmetry of the (2+1)-dimensional generalized Benjamin–Ono equation are obtained by using the truncated Painlevé expansion. The nonlocal symmetry are localized by introducing auxiliary variables. Furthermore, this equation is also proved to be consistent tanh expansion solvable, and three classes of exact solutions are derived.
