Abstract

Gamma-ray angular distributions and resonance strength measurements have been carried out on a resonance at ε p = 3468±3 keV in the reaction 54Fe(p, γ) 55Co. The resonance at 8468±2 keV decays to a state at 6068±2keV. These two levels have properties consistent with those expected of the analogue and antianalogue of the 3.81 MeV ( J π = 9 2 +) state in 55Fe. The analogue-antianalogue transition strength is found to be Γ γ(M1) = 0.037±0.009 eV (0.13±0.3 W.u.). E1 transition rates to the ground state and a state at 2918 keV are measured to be 2.7±0.6×10 −4 W.u. and 1.3±0.3 × 10 −4 W.u., respectively.
